In sync with the booming growth of bubble tea and Mainland Chinese cuisine offerings in Richmond, new Hong Kong style cafes are still opening up with creative menus going beyond the classic baked pork chop rice or iced lemon tea.

While I played it safe with the baked pork chop rice, my colleague went for the pork hock (leg).  It was a "premium" product based on price, but it did look good and quite substantial portion.  He enjoyed it very much and finished the entire piece in 20 minutes.

Most entrees also come with a drink and soup, so for the money, they deliver value. In addition to the food, the restaurant itself is spacious and you won't be sitting with your back tightly against the next table .

I will return for other items soon!

Rumor has it staff from Redbud Restaurant also a Hong Kong Cafe in Richmond, BC branched off to start this establishment.

Restaurant is located in Richlea Square Shopping Center (10151 No. 3 Road) so there is plenty of parking.

Visited this place after 14:30 to take advantage of their price conscious "afternoon tea" menu.  Ordered their Fried Chicken Drumstick with fries and Hot Hong Kong Style Milk Tea.  The chicken and fries were fried to perfection as they tasted very juicy and crunchy.  My drink was served after for a perfect ending to a meal.

Staff were friendly and my order was quick.  Decor is modern and fresh looking.

Upon trying to decide what to eat for lunch, my friend suggested we try a new Hong Kong cafe in Richmond. I would have expected it to be somewhere in central Richmond, but it is surprisingly located in the Broadmoor area in the plaza on the corner of No. 3 and Williams.

The restaurant seemed to be quite busy when we arrived at the height of lunch hour on a weekend. But even with 5 or so parties ahead of us, we were seated within 10 minutes. The decor was cute, clean and modern.

When it came time to order the food, I ordered for myself the seafood baked spaghetti with cream sauce. Standard with baked dishes, it took a little longer than the rest of the food to arrive. For $13, you get a ton of food. Likely, if you don't usually eat a lot, this portion is good for 2 people. I was super hungry so I managed to finish it on my own, though was very full afterwards. It was greasy and delicious. It was better than other variations of the dish in similar restaurants like Happy Day Cafe. The food came with a free hot drink but I chose to substitute it for a cold HK milk tea for a dollar extra, which was also a big portion.

This restaurant is a solid standard HK cafe to add to the asian food scene in Richmond. Though service can get slow depending on where you sit and how busy the restaurant is, it is still a nice spot to come to for lunch if you want value for money and don't want to wait for a crazy amount of time at similar kinds of places.

A Hong Kong style cafe that my mom keeps wanting to bring us here because they serve lobster bisque as their soup on their dinner set meal. Their set dinner is a pretty good deal as you get a full size lobster, lobster bisque, a drink, 3 other dishes and a rice dish. We came in a party of 8 so we ordered 2 set of set dinner for 4. The restaurant was very accommodating and allowed us to make changes to the set menu since we are ordering two of the same set. The flavors are on point. The truffle chicken is very frequent and tasty but just a bit too much tiny bones for my liking.  The curry and fried rice are really good. The beef brisket in the curry is so tender than it almost melt in your mouth. The down side is the wait to get a table was really long though.... like really long. However, I would say it's worth the wait.

I came here twice and it's becoming one of my favourite HK style cafes.  When it comes to Chinese food, I don't have high expectations with service.  The service here was acceptable.  They were efficient and fairly friendly.

I usually based the quality of a HK cafe by their milk tea.  I drink it with less milk and the ones here were perfect.  The tea was strong (just the way I like it).  The food tasted great!  My favourites are the HK style french toast and the curry beef.  The french toast was deep fried but you wouldn't find it oily and it paired so well with my milk tea.  The beef curry was tender and just the right amount of spiciness.  I would totally come back and try other menu items.

Tip:  When you walk in, make sure you write your name and the number of people in your party (on the white board).  Staff are always busy.
